Development strategy to build on prepared foods sector

A new development strategy has been launched for the Prepared Consumer Foods sector.

It is aimed at building on strong performance to increase competitiveness and develop new markets, output and exports. Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Noel Treacy, says if targets are met, it is likely that jobs in the sector will increase by 9% over the next three years, to 16,000.
