Japan's trade surplus in July rose 7.3% from a year previous, to US$6.8bn, as increased exports to Asia offset a slow demand in the US.

Japan's trade surplus in July rose 7.3% from a year previous, to US$6.8bn, as increased exports to Asia offset a slow demand in the US.

The Japanese government said overall exports for the month increased 5.6%, while imports rose 5.3%.
