European Union growth was flat in the second quarter of 2003, with not much of a pickup seen for the rest of the year, according to figures released today.

European Union growth was flat in the second quarter of 2003, with not much of a pickup seen for the rest of the year, according to figures released today.

The figures are more or less in line with those of the European Central Bank, which will likely come under increasing pressure to cut interest rates again in the autumn.
