Microsoft rebrands mobile software
Microsoft has launched a new version of its software for mobile devices and at the same time has rebranded its name.
It had used different names to refer to its mobile software, including Pocket PC and Windows CE.
However, it has now decided to rebrand as Windows, the name it uses for its desktop operating systems and server software for networked computers.
Microsoft has been struggling to make its mobile software more widely used. Software from Palm is the dominant software used on PDAs in the United States.
