The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern has urged Irish banks to pass last week's 0.5% interest rate reduction to all of their customers.

The European Central Bank reduced its main lending rate from 2.5% to 2% last week, but the majority of Irish banks have still not passed the cut on to borrowers and mortgage holders.
