AOL in talks to sell Chinese interest

AOL Time Warner is in talks to sell its controlling stake in its mainland Chinese television station, according to the Financial Times website.

This would mean AOL giving up its foothold in the Chinese language market on mainland China.

Along with Rupert Murdoch's Star TV, AOL's Chinese Entertainment Television Broadcasting won the right in 2001 to broadcast in China's Guandong province.

It is expected to sell to Tom.com, a media group controlled by a Hong Kong business man.
