AIB promises no cutbacks for three years

Allied Irish Bank has assured staff that there will be no compulsory redundancies and no closures of rural branches in the next three years.

The Irish Bank Officials Association said the commitment was part of an agreement between workers and management which also reduced the working week to 35 hours.
