Online vendor Amazon.com cut its losses in the first quarter of 2003 to $10.1m (€9.18m), or 3 cents a share from $23.2m (€21.09m), or six cents a share a year ago.

Online vendor Amazon.com cut its losses in the first quarter of 2003 to $10.1m (€9.18m), or 3 cents a share from $23.2m (€21.09m), or six cents a share a year ago.

On a pro forma basis, which excludes interest expenses, the company made a profit of $40.3m (€36.64m).
