Insurance is top gripe to Competition Authority
The Chairman of the Competition Authority has told a Dail Committee that he has received more complaints about insurance costs than from any other sector.
Dr John Fingleton told the Oireachtas Committee on Enterprise and Small Business that most of the complaints did not identify specific breaches of the Competition Act, but raised concerns that the market may not be working efficiently.
He also said the key objective is to ensure that cost reductions are passed on to consumers.
