ICI plans further cutbacks

Chemicals group ICI said today it was planning to cut a further 150 staff as it reported flat profits and lower sales for the last year.

The group, which has been battling against tough market conditions, said pre-tax profits for the year to December 31, stripping out one-off costs, were £400m (€609m) against £401m (€611m) the previous year.
