Shares in Friends Provident rallied from an all-time low in London today after the life insurer said it had rounded off the year with its "best ever quarter".
The company, which demutalised and floated in 2001, posted an 11% increase in new life and pensions premiums to £1.74bn (€2.63bn) in 2002.
