ISME predicts bad year for manufacturing

The Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association has predicted that no new jobs will be created in the manufacturing sector next year.

The association said 18,100 workers were laid off in the sector in 2002 and it predicted that this trend will continue in 2003.
