Tokyo shares close lower on Wall Street fall

Share prices closed lower after Wall Street's losses overnight and on caution ahead of key employment data from the US tonight, dealers said.

The Nikkei 225 index closed down 54.31 points, or 0.61%, at 8,863.26.
