The annual adjusted rate of private sector credit growth was 13.8pc in August, compared with 12.5pc in July, according to figures from the Central Bank.

The annual adjusted rate of private sector credit growth was 13.8pc in August, compared with 12.5pc in July, according to figures from the Central Bank.

The bank says much of this was due to an exceptional item in August last year. Stripping this out, the annual growth rate was 12.9pc.
