ESB announces record turnover but falling profits

The ESB has announced that its turnover exceeded €2bn last year for the first time in its history.

However, the company also announced a fall in its operating profits, mainly due to wage rises following a pay deal agreed last year and expenditure on fuel, which rose by €171 last year alone.
