GDP rises by 3% in first quarter of 2002

Ireland’s Gross Domestic Product rose almost 3% in the first quarter of this year, while Gross National Product rose 1.6%, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

Ireland’s Gross Domestic Product rose almost 3% in the first quarter of this year, while Gross National Product rose 1.6%, according to figures released today by the Central Statistics Office.

The figures also show a continuation of the upward trend in retail sales, with consumer spending up 3.6%.
