BP boss to stay on

Lord Browne, chief executive of BP, has been asked to stay on at the helm of the world's second-largest oil company for another six years, the Financial Times reported today.

Although he has an employment contract with a two-year notice period, Lord Browne, 54, revealed that the board of BP had asked him to continue to lead the company until he reaches the compulsory retirement age of 60.
