Ireland’s Central Bank today forecast economic growth of 3% this year down from 5% two years ago but said the figure should head upwards again soon.

Ireland’s Central Bank today forecast economic growth of 3% this year down from 5% two years ago but said the figure should head upwards again soon.

But bank governor John Hurley warned that the current Irish annual inflation rate, at 4.8% one of the highest in the European Union, had to be cut to around 1% to avoid putting the expansion of the economy at risk.
