British Airways is tomorrow expected to report its worst set of figures since privatisation - with losses equating to more than £1m (€1.5m) a day.

The group has been hit by the slump in demand for air travel following foot-and-mouth and September 11, and has also faced intense competition from budget airlines such as Ryanair and EasyJet.
