Increased imports reflect US revival

The US trade deficit widened to more than £21bn (€34bn) in February as Americans’ appetite for foreign cars, TVs and other goods increased, reflecting the budding economic recovery.

The Commerce Department reported today that the deficit was 11.6% higher than January’s trade gap.
