Dow closes above the 10,000 mark

Wall Street has stalled in lacklustre trading as investors collected profits from the market's latest advance.

The Dow closed up 12.32, or 0.1%, at 10,001.99, while the Nasdaq composite index lost 15.79, or 0.9%, to 1,843.37.
