Euro countdown continues in earnest

Many Europeans are finally hearing the jingle of the euro as coin sets are distributed before its launch on January 1.

In Frankfurt, where the European Central Bank sets monetary policy for the 12 nation euro zone, the so-called starter kits were handed out after midnight.
