Hundreds of flights to and from France are expected to be disrupted later today when the country’s air traffic controllers begin a 36-hour strike.

Unions representing the disgruntled workers are protesting against the EU’s plans to implement a “single sky plan”, which would eliminate nationally run air traffic control by letting planes fly routes not limited by Europe’s internal borders.
