Havok signs a deal with Eidos Interactive
Eidos Interactive's Iona Storm Austin studio ISA is to be provided with real time physics from Dublin company Havok.
Ion Storm will be building on the go-anywhere, do-anything theme of games Deus Ex and Thief in their next release to allow more interactivity with all objects in a scene.
Havok physics will work alongside the ISA-modified Unreal engine in both titles.
Warren Director of Ion Storm Austin said "Games like Deus Ex and Thief are all about player experimentation in a deeply simulated world, detailed physics simulation is absolutely critical if we're going to achieve our gameplay goals. Havok's multi-platform tool really meets our needs."
The CEO of Havok, Hugh Reynolds said that they now have over 40 titles in development on all major console platforms using Havok physics. Havok develops and markets real-time physics software for digital entertainment and web-based applications.
