EMI hit by economic slowdown

Music group EMI, home to stars such as Robbie Williams and the Beatles, today revealed how the global economic slowdown had finally hit home.

EMI said sales of recorded music had been ‘‘weaker than expected’’ during the second quarter and full-year profits would show a 20% decline.
