US stocks higher on profit taking

Taking few chances in a still uncertain US economy, investors have cashed in their profits.

The Dow closed up 41.17, or 0.4%, at 10,551.18, and the Nasdaq composite index gained 19.00, or 0.9%, to 2,087.38.
