The rate of house-price growth in Ireland “should be carefully monitored”, the European Commission has said.

House prices need careful monitoring

In its examination of EU housing markets, the Commission said that despite rapid price increases, markets in Ireland, Hungary, and Estonia remained “undervalued”.

But it warned that methods to measure housing markets might not be reliable and that a number of countries “may be, in absolute terms, not that undervalued”, after all.
