IAG chief executive Willie Walsh arrives in Dublin for talks aimed at heading off growing opposition to the proposed takeover of Aer Lingus which has appeared to be in peril in the past number of days.

Mr Walsh will first meet with the Government’s inter-departmental review group, which includes officials from transport, public expenditure and reform, finance, and New Era.

The former Aer Lingus chief executive is then set to be grilled by the Oireachtas transport committee at 2pm tomorrow on his group’s plans for the Irish airline if it’s sold.
