Service firms’ job creation levels hit eight-year high

Firms in the service sector are hiring at the fastest rate in more than eight years as the business activity continues to increase.

Investec’s monthly Services Purchasing Managers’ Index shows that the service sector recorded a further increase in business activity during November, extending the current sequence of expansion to 28 months.

The overall index rose from 61.5 to 61.6 last month, representing a continued strong level of growth.
