Trade surplus up 75% to €3.3bn

The country’s trade surplus rebounded strongly in August from a low ebb the previous month, climbing 75% to €3.3bn.

Having dipped to €1.9bn in July, the seasonally-adjusted surplus grew significantly on the back of an increase in exports, figures from the CSO show.

Exports climbed 23% from €6.5bn to €7.9bn in August, helping the surplus to recover from its lowest level since 2007.
