Aer Lingus and Ryanair carried more passengers in June than during the same month last year.

Results released by Aer Lingus show that total traffic for the month, including Aer Lingus Regional flights, was up 7.8% to 1,125,000 passengers compared with 1,044,000 passengers in June 2013.

The airline’s long-haul passenger numbers showed particularly strong growth of 21.5% in the month, while short haul passengers increased 2.6% to 854,000.
