Fastest manufacturing jobs growth since 1999

More manufacturing jobs are being created now than at any time in the last 15 years according to the latest Investec’s monthly Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI).

The survey found that as a result of increased workloads, Irish firms are now adding staff at a rate that was last seen in December 1999.

While the overall figure for the PMI fell marginally from 56.1 to 55, the sector is still expanding as any figure over 50 indicates growth.
