Tax take falls 0.1% to €5.8bn in February due to ‘one-off factors’

The amount of tax generated in the economy for the year to the end of February was down 0.1% on year ago levels at €5,812m.

However, the drop was explained by a series of one-off factors.

“Last month we noted that the introduction of the Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA) had caused timing issues in respect of the collection of certain monthly tax receipts.
