Last Tuesday, in the cold and wet, an estimated 10,000 people braved the elements to attend a rally to demonstrate their anger at the unfairness of the budget in targeting the older generation.

They came from far and near and they came to be heard. Enda Kenny maintains that he is not for turning, that there will be no U-turn. But he might want to think about that absolute.

Does he want to be remembered as the Brian Cowen of Fine Gael, the man who brought the party to its own self-perpetrated destruction? Because it looks like some of those most impacted by this unfair and pernicious budget are fighting back.
