Currencies stuck in trading ranges for now

Range-bound currencies has been the main feature of forex markets for much of this year and it does not look like this is going to change anytime soon.

It is very hard to predict when and how the major currencies will break out of their recent ranges.

We had thought that the dollar might gain a bit of an edge once the US Federal Reserve started to scale back its quantitative easing asset purchase programme.
