Doing nothing has always been a great skill of mine. I should have been awarded a PhD for it in university as it was there where my formidable abilities to arse around were carefully crafted.

Taking time to do nothing pays dividends

My primary degree was in Arts and I interpreted that as a license to think abstractly — for days on end. For years that tremendous asset of mine was misinterpreted by many as a clear indicator of laziness and a jaw dropping lack of ambition. But not now.

The Economist publication — no less — opined recently that life for business executives has been drawn into a never-ending series of meetings, travel and engagements that fill to the brim their calendars.
