Salon app fills last-gasp beauty slot

Cork entrepreneurs Kieran Walsh and David O’Flynn have launched an app aimed at the hair and beauty salon industry.

Salon app fills last-gasp beauty slot

So far, WhatSalon has signed up 70 beauty salons in Cork and 260 across the country to use its services.

The free app, which can be used on an iPhone and Android phones, allows people make last-minute, real-time hair and beauty appointments at the touch of a button.

It is aimed at customers and salon owners offering the chance for customers to quickly find what they want with regards to beauty and hair treatments and fill empty same-day appointments for salons.

The app will identify users’ current location; offer treatments available; identify the nearest salons with appointments available at the time required; accept and confirm last-minute bookings; provide salon price lists, opening hours, and other details; and provide reviews from users.

The benefits to salon owners include the ability to fill empty appointments; to offer an additional digital marketing avenue; be a part of a family of trusted and approved high-quality salons; and offer the opportunity to discount specific treatments/ specific days up to 30% maximum.

The Whatsalon app is free to download and there is no extra cost for the treatment.

The price advertised by the salon is the total cost that will be paid.

Once the booking is made, 10% of the service price is payable, and will be charged to the credit or debit card selected on sign up.

The balance is paid at the salon directly.
