Manufacturing data released by the Central Statistics Office detailing strong growth among indigenous firms, as well as multinationals, has offered fresh optimism of a sustained employment recovery.

The latest industrial production data, issued yesterday by the CSO, show that manufacturing production increased by 8% in June, when compared to May.

On a year-on-year basis, there was a 2.7% increase noted in June — the first time this year that an annualised rise has been seen.
