Croke Park II: Some work done, more to do
After all, the final proposal was agreed without too much rancour. While a few unions representing somewhere between 64,000 and 80,000 employees did walk out, some in the latter stages, most stayed in.
There has been no major rumblings from those who stayed and there appears to be a consensus that there will be a recommendation for support of the deal, at least among those who stayed. After all, some of the union leaders are already claiming that this is the best agreement under the current circumstances. In fact, the main unions are arguing that, without their input, the proposals would be far worse.
