The Irish arm of global distribution giant DHL last year returned to profit.

Accounts just filed with the Companies Registration Office show pre-tax profits at DHL Express Ireland Ltd (DHLIL) totalled €1.43m after pre-tax losses of €102,000 in 2010.

The turnaround in the German-owned company’s fortunes followed DHLIL restructuring its business here in 2009 to scale back its domestic delivery service.
