Ireland has reached an agreement with veterinary authorities which will allow for the exportation of Irish sheepmeat to South Africa.

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney said the deal is a reflection of the strong rapport and trust between agricultural and veterinary authorities of both countries.

The trade deal came following consultations between the Department of Agriculture, the Irish embassy in South Africa and South African authorities.
