Market down in line with Europe

European markets finished lower across the board yesterday, giving up gains made on Tuesday.

US markets also opened lower and looked as though the trend would continue. The Iseq index gave up 38.98 points to finish at 3173.56.

Financial shares were broadly unchanged as both AIB and Permanent TSB Group closed at the same levels as Tuesday. The former was 5.1c at the close while the latter finished at 2.4c. Bank of Ireland lost ground, shedding 0.2c to 8.7c
