Milk quota has been allocated to 92 new entrants in the 2012 New Entrants to Dairying Scheme.

They include 57 who had not previously held quota, and will each receive 200,000 litres. The remaining 35 successful applicants had previously purchased quota as new entrants or successors under the Milk Quota Trading Scheme. They will receive allocations totalling four million litres.

The increased numbers of successful applicants is a result of re-allocating quota not taken up in the 2009 and 2010 Schemes.
