CSO: Agricultural output price index increased by 0.9% in June 2012
The agricultural input price index increased by 0.2% over the same period. Thus, the resulting terms of trade index increased by 0.7% in Jun 2012.
The seasonally adjusted output price index in Jun 2012 was 1.5% higher than in May 2012.
On an annual comparison, the agricultural output price index in Jun 2012 was 3.6% higher than in Jun 2011.
The input price index was up 2.6% in Jun 2012 compared with Jun 2011.
A further comparison of the June 2012 sub-indices with June 2011 shows that: Poultry, cattle, eggs, cereals (including seeds), potatoes (incl seeds), and pig prices increased by 20.6%, 19.4%, 8.8%, 6.2%, 6.2%, and 5.7% respectively, while wool, milk, and sheep prices fell by 21.3%, 15.3%, and 6.2%.
Seeds, energy, fertilisers, and feeding stuff prices increased by 7.7%, 6.7%, 2.8%, and 1.8% respectively.
