Community enterprise gets management boost

The Government has announced the appointment of business development managers to 37 community enterprise centres — a move which is hoped will create nearly 900 jobs over the next two years.

The endeavour will be supported by a €1.6m funding round to support the new infrastructure for the national community enterprise centre network, which is currently managed by Enterprise Ireland.

It has been forecast 848 new jobs will be created across companies supported by the centre network by 2014, as a direct result of the employment of business development managers.
