Phoneware to expand services to American embassies
The roll out of Phoneware’s software will take place incollaboration with Avaya Government Solutions. The software will be installed in more than 100 sites that are part of the US domestic state department.
An Taoiseach Enda Kenny, welcomed the announcement during his trip to Washington.
“The success of Irish companies, like Phoneware, in competitive markets and hi-tech sectors is a testament to our ability to win business anywhere in the world with innovative products and services,” he said.
“It is a great example of how Irish businesses can bring inward investment into the country and create jobs. For our part, the Government will continue to send the message far and wide that Ireland is open for business, that we have fantastic indigenous companies, a highly-educated workforce and the right environment for investment.”
Founded in 1995, Phoneware develops software tools for the telecommunications industry.
Export sales to North America account for 80% of Phoneware’s turnover. The company currently employs 13 people, a rise of three since December 2011, with plans to expand to 15 over the next 12 months.
Phoneware is set to launch a flagship product, PhoneMaster 6, later on in the year. The company have forecast revenue of €4 million over the next 3 years from its latest product.
Managing director Philip Maguire said: “This new product opens up a whole new market to us that will potentially double our earnings internationally. To have the support of a major partner like Avaya Government Solutions is key to our success.”
