THE ISEQ index fell 31.78 points to 2,947.19 yesterday in line with other European and world bourses.

Ratings agency Fitch called on the European Central Bank to do more to solve the currency bloc’s debt crisis, unnerving investors ahead of auctions for Spanish and Italian bonds later in the week.

In the financial sector, Bank of Ireland added 0.1c to 8.5c. AIB gained 0.3c to 6.1c. Irish Life & Permanent gained 0.7c to 3c, while insurance group FBD Holdingsadvanced 30c to €7.15.
