Web confinement a resolution worth debating

OVER this Christmas and New Year, I chose to sever as many connections as possible with the world of news and media.

The blackberry was placed on silent, the iPad was closed and my computer was shut down. In addition, newspapers were shunned and all radio and TV was largely ignored.

In their place were put large dollops of casual conversation with friends and family. The days stretched into long nights during which we’d immerse ourselves in films. Add into this a selection of extended lunches, light walks in the country and long periods of sleep. Bliss.
