Bank lending levels ‘fall significantly’

PERSONAL and commercial lending levels fell significantly during the third quarter of the year, according to latest Central Bank figures published yesterday.

Lending to households, on behalf of Irish banks, amounted to €117.9 billion in the three months to the end of September.

This figure amounted to a 1.2% drop on the previous quarter and was down 2.5% when measured on a year-on-year basis.
