And in particular the review stressed that NAMA chief executive Brendan McDonagh must be “liberated to focus on the more strategic or entrepreneurial aspects of the role”.

Yesterday, the National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) said that while it was originally intended the review would remain confidential, the board of NAMA, with Mr Geoghegan’s agreement, decided “in the interests of transparency” to publish it.
